Mysuru: In the wake of the brutal attack on the District Deputy Commissioner, the lower grade government officials, raising security concerns, staged a silent protest wearing a black ribbon at the Mysuru Regional Office on Tuesday, November 4.
Chamarajanagar DC A. M. Kunjappa was injured during stone pelting that took place during a protest organised by the coal carriers on Monday night.
Taking part in a silent protest that was staged by the government employees, Kunjappa expressed his opposition towards coal mafia. Addressing the media he said that the attack on him was a result of frustration by the coal miners as the Police Department had curbed illegal coal transport menace in Chamarajanagar.
“The District Administration will fight tooth and nail to abolish illegal coal mining. CCTV footage of the recent attack has been recovered and has been sent for investigation,” he said.
