Maddur : District in-charge Minister Ambarish has said that he was confident that all pilgrims hailing from the state who are stranded in the flood ravaged Uttarakhand would return home safely. He said the state government was making all out efforts to ensure the safety of its pilgrims.
Ambarish who visited the residence of MG Seetaramu of Kotebeedi in the town, who had been on a Kedarnath tour and is missing, consoled the family members. Later speaking to reporters, he said the state government was doing its level best to help the affected people. He said it has already provided a relief of Rs 5 crore as its contribution to Uttarakhand and added a team of doctors and social workers have also been deputed to the state.
Former minister DK Shivakumar who also spoke said the state government was committed to ensure the safety of its pilgrims and added the opposition need not rake up an unnecessary controversy over the issue. Deputy Commissioner Krishnaiah, SP Bushan, Shantha Hulmani, Assistant Commissioner and others were present.
