Mysuru: Governor Vajubhai Vala’s statement that girl srudents should give up wearing fancy clothes and lipstick to collegewhile speaking at the Indian Science Congress has triggered state-wide criticism on Thursday.
While delivering the valedictory address at the 103rd Indian Science Congress in Mysuru, Vala said, “Both girls and boys are intelligent. To achieve something in life you need to sacrifice something. Boys have to give up their specific addictions. Girls need to give up their fashion. You (girls) come to college for studies and not  to participate in any beauty competition. You (girls) don’t need to get your eyebrows done, apply lipstick or trim your hair” he said.

However, these comments have not gone down well with the women’s groups and college girls.
