Bengaluru: In a major reprieve for T.S. Subramanya, who has been suspended as the Deputy Director of Mysore Palace Board, a Single-Judge Vacation Bench of the Karnataka High Court presided by Justice Anand Byrareddy, has granted Ad-interim stay on the suspension to him.
Justice Anand Byrareddy, who heard the arguments of Advocate M.S. Bhagwat, appearing for T.S. Subramanya, also reprimanded the Karnataka Government for its uncalled for interference in the affairs of the Mysore Palace and also directed the Government not to poke its nose in the affairs of the Mysore Palace unless the Palace Board itself makes a request.
Bhagwat, appearing for Sunbramanya, contended that it was not fair on the part of the Government to interfere in Palace affairs till the Palace Board urges for the same after passing a resolution as the Palace Board was an autonomous body.
As T.S. Subramanya has already handed over all the documents relating to the Gold Leafing Scam in the Palace to Lokayukta, who is investigating the case, there is no question of him destroying or tampering any evidence, Advocate Bhagwat contended.
Earlier Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya has been suspended on May 19 in connection with this alleged Gold Leaf Scam of the Mysore Palace, for the second time. Subramanya was transferred referring to the allegation, however he was then suspended, challenging his suspension as he felt the order is untenable and vindictive in nature. Thus the order of suspension was taken before the Karnataka High Court.
