Mysuru: Wife of former cooperation minister H S Mahadevaprasad has decided to test political waters by agreeing to contest in the by-elections for Gundlupet Assembly constituency.
After performing certain rituals after the death of her husband, Geetha Mahadevaprasad met the Suttur Seer to take his blessings before jumping into the fray. She was involved in a discussion that lasted more than 90 minutes with the seer in the matt located at the foothills of Chamundi Hills.

In the meantime, son Ganesh Prasad has decided to back his mother’s candidature and sounded confident on her victory. He exuded confidence in the electorate of backing his mother to the hilt to ensure her victory.

The by-elections are likely to be held in the near future for the seat that has fallen vacant due to the sudden demise of H S Mahadevaprasad who died of heart attack at Chikkamagluru on January 3.
