Mysuru: A gang of highway burglars has been successfully nabbed by the Nazarbad police on Saturday.

The gang of seven used to trap the vehicles that used to carry gold and cash from Bengaluru to Kerala, on the highway.

The gang has been involved in as many as 15 burglary cases in Bengaluru and was also involved in attempt to loot the residence of Maulvin Education Trust President.

The arrested are Anil from Madikeri, Sathish from Bengaluru and their aides Madan, Suresh Baby, Babbu, Shankar and Govardhan. A car, one pistol, four live bullets and some explosives have been confiscated.

Apart from targeting the vehicles carrying cash and money on highway, they used to also identify houses of the rich and execute theft.
