Mysuru: As many as 500 new students from foreign countries will pursue various academic courses in the cultural city this academic year from August. There are more than 3000 foreign students from 67 foreign countries in the city pursuing their studies.

Tinashe, Vice President, Federation of International Students Association, Mysuru said, “There are various foreign students’ nuisance incidents creeping up here and there in Bengaluru and Delhi. Such incidents should not happen here in Mysuru. Once the new foreign students get admissions here in various colleges of the city, an orientation program will be conducted by DCP Shekar. More than 500 students from Tanzania, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will be coming to Mysuru to pursue various courses from this academic year,” he said.
“India, which is known for its cultural values, has got its own restrictions. Women have high respect here. There is a separate seating arrangement for women in buses. In some of the colleges including JSS Law College where I am pursuing law, there is separate seating arrangement for boys and girls which is not the same in many foreign countries. Hence, the new comers should know all these restrictions to be law abiding citizens,” added Tinashe.
Health walk on July 17
More than 500 students are expected to take part in the health walk program which will be held at UOM, Manasagangotri gate on July 17. The walk will kick start at 3.30pm.
