Mysuru: Cultural city of Mysore is bedecked like a bride as international theatre festival “Bahurupi Rashtriya Natakotsava-2017” is all set to begin on January13 at Rangayana.
Festive mood has gripped the city for the six-day theatre fest where stage music, dramas from national and international teams, film festival, art and craft exhibition, book exhibition and symposiums are likely to be held.
Artistes arriving from different parts of the world will be provided accommodation in Mysuru University Guest House. All rooms are reserved to accommodate 150 to 200 team members daily.
Theatre artistes and enthusiasts will have a choice of 60 stalls where local delicacies will be served to tickle the taste buds.
International theatre troupes from UK, Poland, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are likely to arrive in the city to participate in the weeklong festival.
National troupes converging from all four corners of the country are set to entertain theatre lovers and most are keen on buying tickets in advance to witness rare and special performances.
Entry tickets are available online and more than 50 percent of the tickets have been sold till now. Tickets for inaugural day’s drama “Chitralekha” by the local troupe were sold out on the first day.
Despite few unexpected setbacks, the enthusiasm shown by theatre lovers has changed the environment at the venue as well as the city which is going to witness the “best of theatre” during the week.
