Mysuru: In a shocking incident a young lady was brutally murdered by her boyfriend for forcing him to marry her.

Kruthika, a 23 year old from Chamarajanagar was trapped by one N Pramod Kumar, a businessman from the same town who was engaged to many other girls.

The murder took place on December 21. It is learnt that they both were in love for almost 2 months and Kruthika had asked him to marry her. But Kumar started avoiding her and wanted to get rid of her.

Reportedly in the first week of December Kumar took her to Mysuru in a car and they stayed at a hotel.

On December 21, a heated argument between them in regard to marriage led to the murder of Kruthika in a remote area in Jayapura. Enraged Kumar reportedly hit her with a iron rod and then dumped her in a manhole. After a while he poured petrol and set her on fire.

The charred body was found by the localites who soon informed police. They could not trace the culprit and identify the body as she was from out of town. With the help of a CCTV footage of a car nearby and also after analysing call logs on the same night in the locality around 20 suspects were taken into custody and were questioned.

Pramod Kumar who was also questioned reportedly denied and later confessed to have committed the murder.

The Mysuru police have registered a murder case in this regard and Superintendent of police Abhinav Khare is further investigating.
