English couple enters wedlock, concept of Mantra Mangalya

Mysuru: Fritha Vincent and Olafa Mason, a couple from England, entered into a wedlock under the concept of “Mantra Mangalya” in Mysore on January 7.

The simple wedding took place at “Odanadi Swayam Seva Mandir” of JP Nagar in Mysore.

Fritha Vincent (38), a social worker by profession and Olafa Mason (41) a carpenter, were both in love for the past 10 years and had planned to tie the knot in the traditional Indian manner.

Fritha Vincent works for the welfare of tribals in South India. More than 150 people attended this simple wedding.

Mantra Mangalya, is a marriage concept propagated by poet Kuppalli Venkatappa Puttappa (Kuvempu). There are no Vedic rituals or chanting of Sanskrit mantras under this concept.
