Elaborate security arrangement for Dasara in place: B Dayananda

Mysuru: In order to ensure peaceful Dasara celebrations, elaborate security arrangements are made across the city said Police Commissioner B Dayananda.

“For the annual Dasara which will begin from October 1 to 11, we are expecting thousands of tourists not only from across the state and country but also from foreign countries. In the wake of recent blast at court premises and violence that broke over Cauvery water dispute, security has been beefed up across the city,” added Police Commissioner.

As many as 4,214 traffic policemen, 80 commandos from RAF and Mysuru City Commando Force, 49 security inspecting teams and 14,000 home guards have been deployed across the city. Apart from this, 90 police inspectors, 200 police sub-inspectors, 252 ASIs, 2,610 head constables and police constables have been deployed for security. Apart from this, 47 CCTV cameras have been installed along the procession route along with the functioning 42 CCTV cameras in the city.
