Mysuru: A just born baby girl which was thrown inside Mysuru City Corporation garbage collection vehicle at Agrahara and which was later rescued by alert pourakarmikas is presently recovering at Cheluvamba Hospital.
The doctors who are treating the girl are happy with progress. On Monday, Paurakarmikas Sarvana and Nagaraju started their regular door to door garbage collection at Agraha.
Soon Nagaraju who collects the garbage and segregates waste inside the van noticed a plastic bag. When he opened the bag to know what is inside, he was shocked to see a new born baby girl crying with pain due to bruise on its body. The shocked duo immediately called health inspector and later went to KR Police Station. Soon the police personnel arranged Garuda Vehicle and shifted the baby to Cheluvamba hospital where she is undergoing treatment. According to doctors who are treating the baby said that the baby with support of oxygen is under observation.
Speaking to Newskarnataka Dr Radhamani, Superintendent of Cheluvamba Hospital said “The baby which was brought on Monday morning at 7.30am may have been born just three to four hours before being rushed to the hospital.
According to doctors who are treating the baby, the baby weighs 2.2 kg and looks like infected. The doctors have started giving antibiotics and there is sign of improvement. On Tuesday the doctors who are treating her are happy with the progress.
Sarvana says that someone might have dumped the baby into van when the duo was having tea near Hotel Nalapak.
“I don’t know why people do this. There are many people, even after many years of marriage they are not having issues. Boy or girl doesn’t make any difference; people should start treating both boy and girl equally, “says Sarvana, adding that the guilty who has dumped the baby must be given strict punishment.
Once the baby gets cured what next
Once the baby gets treated and cured it will be sent to women and child welfare department and later to adoption centre in Mandya. K Radha, Deputy Director, Women and Child Welfare Department said “After the baby is discharged from hospital, it will be sent to women and child welfare department, later for better care it will be sent to Adoption centre which is in Mandya. Later we will advertise about the baby so that the parents have a chance to get their kid back. Even after two months of the advertisement, if no one comes forward to take the baby, we will give to those who want to adopt the baby. The baby will be adopted through legal procedure.
