Bengaluru: DySP M K Ganapathi suicide case has turned out to be a prestige issue for two national giant parties – the Congress and the BJP. While the Congress wants to save its tainted ‘man’- Minister K J George, the BJP is sharpening its knives to roll his head.

As per sources, the Ganapathi case is no more between the local and state-level leaders. It has snowballed into a prestige issue bringing the high commands of both the parties to face off. Reportedly, couple of days ago, when Central Home Minister Rajnath Singh was in Bengaluru, he met his partymen and collected crucial details pertaining to Ganapathi’s death case.
It is said that Singh took Madikeri MLA Appachu Ranjan and Virajpet MLA Bopaiah to task and questioned them as to why they remained inactive when they should have strongly taken up the case and stood by the grieving family. He had also contacted the Governor and asked him to act.
Close on the heels of this, Ranjan and Bopaiah had contacted the grieving family of Ganapathi and expressed solidarity in their fight for justice.
Further, during the ongoing Assembly session too, the two leaders are seen creating a lot of noise demanding justice. Acting on words of Singh, the entire party has plunged into action, shooting up the heat- both inside and outside the Assembly.
With Singh coming to picture, Congress high command too has decided to act. As sources reveal, Sonia Gandhi had already sought a report on the same issue from the state. If sources are to be believed then senior congress leader Kapil Sibal has been specifically asked to study the entire case and submit a report as well.
With the national leaders of two giant parties resorting to a direct fight, one may have to wait and watch if justice will be delivered or denied to Ganapathi.
