Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly.the Bishop of Mysuru celebrates golden jubilee

Mysuru: The christian community  of Mysuru celebrated the golden jubilee of Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly the Bishop of Mysuru’s priestly ministry on Tuesday here at St. Philomena Church.

Speaking on the occasion, the  Bellary Bishop, Most Rev. Fr. Henry D’souza said, even if people can’t serve the others in society, the people who want to help the poor and those who want to sacrifice his needs for the sake of the lord,  can became bishop, from past 50 years.

Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly the Bishop of Mysore who works for the welfare of the community has also worked for the welfare of the society. 

“The bishop should be thankful to God, because normal people cannot attain that position. God only chooses the right person for ths devotional post. Here the ‘Right’ person also knows about the condition of poor people, their emotions and also he/she  knows how to provide opportunity them to overcome their problems”, he opined.

“The bishops should have the heart to respect all religions and castes. One should not indulge in any activity which insults the community in the society, in this regard Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly had worked hard also made his own name in the society by working for the welfare of all the people.”

After the programme, devotees performed rituals in the church premises. Later bishop Dr. Thomas Vazhapilly spread the message of Jesus, and the devotees prayed with devotional songs as a blessing for Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly.

More than 150 bishops from different parts of the country were present at the event which included Archbishop Bernard Moraes, Kerala Bishop George,  and the  Bellary Bishop  Henry D’Souza.
