Mysuru: A woman who attempted suicide breathed her last after two weeks of battle for life in a local hospital and now, it is suspected that the lady took this extreme step owing to dowry harassment.

Anjali (23) is the deceased. She attempted suicide at her maternal home in Vijayanagar on January 1. She was given in marriage to Anil, son of Tilaknagar residents Shashikal and Nagaraju about four-years-ago. The relation between the husband and wife turned sour when Ajali discovered that Anil was having an extra-marital affair.

After this, Anil had reportedly started torturing and harassing Anjali and his family member gave him full support.
On January 1, Anjali had returned to her maternal home and attempted suicide by hanging herself.  However, the family members had rescued her and admitted her to a hospital in Vijayanagar. But, after battling for life for several days, Anjali breathed her last on Sunday.

Cases have been registered against Anil, mother in-law Shashikala, father in-law Nagaraj, brother in-law Ajay and Shashikala’s brother Chandrashekar.
