Mysuru: Mysuru district in-charge minister G T Devegowda has made it clear that he and tourism minister S R Mahesh are not be held responsible if the Congress-JDS alliance candidate C H Vijayashankar fails to defeat BJP candidate Pratap Simha in the Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency.

Addressing a party activists’ convention in Mysuru city, he made it clear that in the 2014 also, the Congress had failed to win here even though Siddaramaiah was the CM. “Don’t hold us responsible for any defeat,” he said.

The convention started with a number of JDS activists making it clear to the leaders that they will not vote for the Congress candidate. “This alliance was not necessary,” they said. The meeting witnessed chaos when a few activists shouted slogans supporting Modi. GTD was, however, able to diffuse the situation.
