Mysuru: After the suspicious death of IAS officer D K Ravi, the anger and ire of the public came out onto the streets in city. Suspecting State Home Minister K J George’s role in the death of an IAS officer D K Ravi, who was found mysteriously dead in his apartment in Bengaluru on Monday evening, several organisations including Aam Admi Party, Karnataka Kavalu Pade, Credit I society, Raitha Sanga staged a candle light protest against the State Government at the Gandhi Statue near the Court on Tuesday demanding a CBI investigation to bring justice in the case.
The protesters underlined that IAS officer D K Ravi was found dead a few weeks after he conducted a raid on a real estate firm in Bangaluru, in which Home Minister K J George is also a business partner. Besides, the home minister is also responsible for not providing security for an honest officer who dedicated his service to the interests of the state. “We all the people have to clearly know that what happened in SI Bande death case probe which conducted by CID. Such incidents should not repeat”, the Aam Admi Party demanded.
The AAP protesters pointed out that a probe under the CID authority of the state government will not bring justice in the case, as the Congress party is the ruling government in the state, which deliberately transferred young IAS officer D K Ravi from Deputy Commissioner of Kolar to Bangalore and deputed him to a lower grade post as Additional Commissioner (Enforcement) in the Commercial Taxes Department.
“As alert citizens we are aware about the current political conspiracy behind anti-corruption initiatives, we should understand why the state government transferred an IAS officer purposefully, especially when he had earned the reputation of being an honest officer as Deputy Commissioner in Kolar” said Joganahalli Gurumurty, Zonal president for Raitha Sanga.
“He contributed immensely for for social harmony during his tenure in Kolar where caste clashes occur commonly between upper class and lower class people from several years. He made tremendous initiatives which brought positive changes in the people that also worked hard for a solution for caste conflict in the region. Apart from sand mafias agents, there are many anti social elements who also acted against the honest officer. CBI probe can reveal truth” said M P Varsha, Managing trustee, Credit I Society.
