Mysuru: Dejected over failing in the exams, a final year B.Sc student committed suicide here at Chamundi hills on Wednesday, March 8.

Sandeep, hailing from Bilakere in Hunasur taluk is the deceased. He was staying at his relatives house in Chamundipuram.

It is learnt that he took the expreme step to commit suicide as Chamundi hills was his favorite spot. He immolated himself after dowsing with petrol. Immediately police rushed him to hospital with severe burns. But despite treatment he died at the hospital. But before death he gave his close friend’s number to the police and asked to inform about his death to his parents.

A case has been registered at K R Police station.
