Mysuru: Four-year-old tiger Sanjay, who was rescued in March, died here on Friday January 8 at the zoo.
The spate of the death of animals seems to be continuing with another tiger which was under treatment at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens for the last six months, dying of Kidney failure.
The royal Bengal tiger was brought to the zoo from the H D Kote forest range of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve on March 26, 2015. It had sustained wounds on its right shoulder and skull. It had undergone surgery which was the first of its kind in India for tigers. However, it did not respond to the treatment and died on Saturday.
Earlier, Chimpanji Merilla died of food poisoning. Also, two Zeebras were found dead at the zoo. Now with the death of Tiger the number of deaths inside the zoo is increasing due to lack of proper care.
