Mysuru: For the convenience of the public and visitors, district administration for the first time will be installing two big LED screens, one each at Chamundivihar Stadium and University of Mysore Amphitheatre to view torch light parade which will be held at Bannimantap ground on October 11.

D Randeep, Deputy Commissioner said “It came to my notice that due to space constraint at Bannimantap ground, many people especially the general public went disappointed without witnessing the torchlight parade. Hence keeping this in mind, we have decided to install two big screens, one each at Chamundivihar stadium and UoM amphitheatre. The entry will be free for the public. General public and even tourists can make use of this facility instead of getting disappointed after coming to Bannimantap ground”. The maximum capacity of the ground is nearly 30,000, but nearly 35,000 people gather to witness the torchlight parade especially to see the stunning bike performance from the MEG personnel.

General public and even students have welcomed the new initiative. Yeshwanth, an engineering student said, “It’s really a good initiative from the district administration. Many times I got disappointed as I couldn’t get inside the ground to view the torchlight parade. Now if I don’t get ticket, along with my friends I can go to these two places and witness the torch light parade”.
