Dacoits loot gold and money on the Sainagar Shirdi-Mysore express special train

Mysuru: A 30 member group of dacoits looted gold ornaments and money from the passengers on the Sainagar Shirdi-Mysore express special train in the wee hours on Wednesday in Balapur of Maharashtra. There were two Mysurians who lost their valuables during the incident according to reports received.

The incident took place in 14 bogies from S1 to S14 when the train reached near Balapur in Maharashtra at 1.30am. Eyewitnesses said the dacoits stopped the train by pulling chain and escaped in Balapur limits.
 
Passengers instantly informed railway police officers and lodged complaints. According to local television channel reports, robbers used guns and knives to threaten passengers and demanded money and snatched ornaments.
 
The special train Sai Nagar Shiridi-Mysore departed from Sai Nagar Shiridi at 23.55pm on Tuesday night. Due to the incident, the train was stopped for 5 hours in Balapur station. The special train was supposed to reach Mysore Junction on Thursday morning but will now arrive in the evening.
 
Security Commissioner Krishnappa said, “the place where incident took place comes under the limits of Mumbai Head Quarter Section, and so far we have not get detailed information regarding it. The concerned authority has taken all the steps, however and the train is on the way, and will be arrive on Thursday evening”,
