Mysuru: In an unexpected and sudden development, Prof. Ram Rajashekharan, Director of Central Food Technological research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore has been transferred to CSIR headquarters in New Delhi. The additional charge as the director of CFTRI has been now given to Dr. Jitendra Jadhav who is presently serving as the director of CSIR-NAL (National Aerospace Laboratories), Bengaluru.
Prof. Rajarajasekaran who has been serving as CFTRI Director for more than four-and-half years, had another one-and-half years of service left, considering six years tenure.
Many complaints were filed against him with the prime minister and his departmental bosses in Delhi, citing misappropriation of financial resources, irregularities in recruitment and his stance against Kannadiga employees. There were allegations against him of suspending Kannadiga employees without giving valid reasons in the past. He had also shut down Kannada Sahrudaya Balaga at the CFTRI premises and blamed it on the Centre’s directive of not allowing cultural organisations in the premises.
He has been transferred to CSIR Head Quarters in New Delhi and asked to take charge as the director of Special Projects and Initiatives immediately.
