CM to lay foundation stone for exclusive women entrepreneurs’ park

Mysuru: In a major boost for women entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be laying the foundation stone for Industrial Park, exclusively for women entrepreneurs which will be coming up at Tandya Industrial Area (second stage) in Kadakola of Nanjangud Taluk, Mysuru district on January 11.

In the first phase of the project on 48.03 acres, 118 women entrepreneurs will be benefited and will not get more than half acre land. In the second phase, wherein 50 acres of land will be sanctioned, women entrepreneurs who want more than half acre land can get it. During the foundation laying ceremony, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be distributing provisional allotment letters to 12 women entrepreneurs. By February end, allotment letters including plot numbers will be distributed to all the entrepreneurs so that they can start their work.

The exclusive women’s entrepreneur park is expected to attract the beneficiaries who would be helped to set up their firms. The women who are inclined towards the proliferation of micro and small industrial units in the district will receive government support. There are also plans that specific percentage of jobs be reserved for women in the units located in the industrial park.

Ramakrishnegowda, Joint Director, Department of Industries and Commerce said, “As per state government initiative which was announced in the 2016-17 budget, we have come out with exclusive entrepreneur park for women. For each entrepreneur, a minimum of quarter acre to maximum of half acre will be allotted in the first phase. Approximately, per acre it is Rs 60 Lakh, while those who come under SC/ST will have 50 percent discount.”

“General type of industries including drinking water packaging plants, plastic processing units, food and fruit industry, textile, software industries, waste into products, electronics goods waste processing unit, furniture making industry-both steel and wood, automobile component manufacturing unit will be coming up at Women Entrepreneurs’ Park”, added Ramakrishnegowda.
