Kalladka: The Bantwal Police on January 2 have nabbed three accused including a father-son duo in the case of murder attempt on Keshava that took place in the communally sensitive Kalladka region on December 26.
Mohammad Iqbal (47), son Nizam (22), both residents of Kalladka town and Mohammad Sharif (22) were nabbed in connection with the stabbing incident. Hunt is on to nab the other two accused including Chinna Farouq, who are absconding.
The accused are linked to Popular Front of India (PFI), said Sudhir Kumar Reddy, Superintendent of police, revealing the details, following the arrests.
Keshava, an accused in Karopady Jaleel murder case was attacked by two bike borne miscreants on December 26. However, the attempt to kill him had failed.
Following the incident, Kalladka and nearby areas had turned tense and wore a deserted look. However, the Dakshina Kannada police led by the SP had succeeded in bringing the situation under control by sheer efficient management. They had formed four teams subsequently to nab the accused.
The arrested persons were produced in the court on January 3, which remanded them to three-day police custody.
