CM inaugurates State-level Convention of Govt. Employees

Mysore: More than 40,000 government employees from across the State attended a day-long convention of the State Government Employees’ Association held at the Maharaja College Ground in the city on Friday August 23.

The convention was inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at around 1 pm, when he was brought to the venue in a grand procession from Ramaswamy Circle in an open vehicle. The procession was accompanied by numerous folk dance troupes and women carrying Kalashas.

District Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, Co-operation Minister H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, PWD Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, State Government Employees’ Association State President Dr. L. Bhyrappa, District President H.K. Ramu were in the open vehicle with the CM.

After inaugurating the function CM said that the government employees must understand that the state has been facing problems like poverty, inequality, illiteracy and many more such social evils, thus they should work thinking that they are rendering service to God and work for the upliftment of the State.

Clarifying that he is not have any pressure as the chief minister, he opined that self-satisfaction matters and nothing else. He mainly concentrate on farmers and their welfare throughout his administration.

Elaborate security was provided by the Police at the venue. Ambarish, Pushpa Amarnath ZP President Mysore, Rangappa VC UoM and others were also present.
