Mysuru: MLC G. Madhusudan has written a letter to Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to direct the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to withdraw the order banning issuance of khata or building licence or sale or mortgage of property (sites) to people in MUDA formed layouts of Siddarthanagar, Alanahalli, K.C. Nagar and J.C. Nagar.
In the letter, Madhusudan stated that he had learnt of the DC’s order from the residents of these layouts who are put to hardship due to DC’s order.
The MLC observed that the denial of these documents to people who have purchased sites from MUDA is violation of public rights.
Pointing out that he had been waging a legal battle in respect of 1,900 acres of ‘B’ kharab government land coming under Kurubarahalli survey no.4 and Alanahalli survey no.41 for the past 3 years, the MLC said the previous Regional Commissioner M.V. Jayanthi had submitted a 1000-page report to the government on the matter. Even the High Court, while disposing of a petition pending before it in connection with the issue, passed an order directing the DC to follow the principles of justice by giving an opportunity for the respondents to file their objections and then take a decision, he said.
In his letter, the MLC referred to the arrest of Sub-Registrar Girish and the District Registrar getting an anticipatory bail following a complaint lodged by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of late scion of the royal family Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar in connection with the illegal sale and registration of landed property coming under Kurubarahalli survey no.4 and pointed out that following his (MLC) complaint, Upa-Lokayukta Subash B. Adi has directed the government not to take any hasty decision in connection with the Chamundi Hill land row.
Acknowledging that the court had earlier issued a stay order in connection with Kurubarahalli survey no.4 land row, the MLC said there was no stay order in place now and in this backdrop, the DC’s order was not correct.
Clarifying that his battle was only aimed at saving the green cover at the foot of Chamundi Hill, the MLC said the DC’s stand with regard to these MUDA layouts had made the people to see his honest battle with suspicion and anger.
Hence, in order to remove the inconvenience being caused to the residents of the above said localities, the MLC in his letter requested the CM to give appropriate directions to the DC and other concerned officials to restore the property interests of the people of these layouts by issuing documents like khata, building license etc.
