Yelanduru : The unhygienic surroundings and the unbearable stench emanating from the wastes dumped in a drain close by a Government Higher Primary School in Kandahalli village of the taluk, have made it difficult for students  of the school to  be attentive in classes.

The school is located adjacent to the National Highway 209 and wastes are being continuously dumped in the area. To add to it, the authorities have not taken any measure to clear the side drains.

Villagers have urged the local Gram Panchayat to rise to the occasion and  clear the side drain and keep the area clean in the best interests of the students who are facing health hazards due to the unhygienic surroundings.
