BJP Slum Morcha executive meet to be held on September 11 in Mysuru

Mysuru: Former Chief Minister and state BJP President BS Yeddyurappa will inaugurate state-level Slum Morcha Executive Meeting at Oriole Resort located at the foot of Chamundi Hill on September 11.

Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Friday R Raghu, General Secretary, BJP State Slum Morcha said “Mysuru city has been declared as celeanest city in the country for the second consecutive year. But still there are 134 slums across the city, among which 104 slums are recognized by corporation officials and the rest 34 slums are not recognized. There are more than 15,967 families and overall 79,000 people reside in these slums. These people are having various problems including lack of toilets etc. Hence to make Mysuru city as slum free city, during the one day meeting, the problems of these people will be taken up and discussed. We are just like bridge between people residing in slum and government. We will try to bring these problems to the notice of government and try to solve them at the earliest. Over more than 200 representatives of slum morcha across the state will take part in the meeting”.

Senior BJP leaders including DV Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Member of Parliament Pratap Simha, MLC Vijayshankar, CT Ravi will be part of the programme. Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the event at 10.30am.
