Mysuru: A case of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation has been registered against Pontiff Raghaveshwara Bharathi of Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt of Haniya in Shimoga district, with regards to the same. The CID conducted a mahazar at the residence of the BJP leader and District Co-operative Union leader H.V. Rajiv at Vidyaranyapuram.

After arriving in the city on Tuesday July 21, the CID visited Vidyaranyapuram Police and later went to Rajiv’s residence as the Seer is said to have stayed in Rajiv’s residence from June 3 to June 8, 2012, when Ramakatha discourse was held in the city.

Ramakatha Singer Premalatha, in her complaint with the Police, has accused the Seer of raping her during her stay in Mysuru for the Ramakatha discourse.

After the CID police completed the enquiry, they said that they have sought information from Rajiv on the Seer’s stay at his residence during the Ramakatha discourse.

On the other hand, addressing media the alleged victim Premalatha broke down into tears saying that all evidences may get destroyed due to delay in the investigation. She also said that she was under pressure from several quarters to withdraw the complaint against the Seer; she said that she will continue to fight as she still hoped that justice would be done.

Meanwhile, BJP leader H.V. Rajiv reacting to Premalatha’s quotes said that Raghaveshwara Swamiji had stayed in his house during the Ramakatha discourse in June 2012. Many others who had accompanied that Seer too stayed in his house and there was no question of any secrets taking place in his house, he added.

Ramakatha Singer Premalatha, in her complaint to the Bengaluru Police in August 2014, had alleged that the Seer had sexually assaulted her at 40 places across the globe between 2010 and 2014. As Mysuru was one of the places which Premalatha had accused the Seer of rape, the CID Police conducted mahazar at Rajiv’s residence, where the Seer is said to have stayed in June 2012 for the Ramakatha discourse.
