Bahuroopi theatre festival showcases Assamese play

Mysuru: ‘King Lear’ is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. The titular character descends into madness after disposing of his estate between two of his three daughters based on their flattery, bringing tragic consequences for all.

While Bahuroopi theatre festival has been celebrating the various aspects of Shakespeare’s literature, this was shown in a transformed Indian culture and staged as “Fall of the King” or “Burha Manuhor Babe Desh Hai” (Assamese) by Omni Flame the art society, Dibrugarh Assam which was directed by young Palash Protim Mech.

As it was weekend the Bahuroopi and Vanaranga was full and the play brought-in more attraction. Director used poetic form in the play and prolonged with the Assamese tradition.

After the play H Janardhan Director Rangaayana praised the artists of Assam region.
