Mysuru: Ashwath Arjun from Tamil Nadu and Rashmi Wagde from Karnataka won the U-14 boys and girls tittle respectively in the AITA national ranking tennis tournament organized by Inner Wheel Club at Nagaraj Tennis Centre at SJCE Tennis Complex here on Monday.

In the boys U-14 singles finals, Ashwath Arjun proved too good for DK Harsha as he registered 6-4, 6-1 win over him. During his stint at the court, Ashwath displayed good all-round display to register straight set win over Harsha. Earlier in the semis, Ashwath Arjun defeated S Krithik Kalyan from Tamil Nadu by 9-5 while Harsha registered 9-7 win over K Sarvesh Varshan from Tamil Nadu.

In the girls U-14 keenly contested finals between Rashmi and G Yashomathi, both from Karnataka, Rashmi who held her nerve to the very last minute managed to snatch narrow win over her compatriot Yashomathi by 5-7, 6-1, 11-9(tiebreak). In the semis, Rashmi defeated Athmika Srinivas of Karnataka by 9-3 while Yashomathi beat M Jasha 9-8.
