Mysuru: “Former Chief Ministers HD Kumarswamy and Jagadish Shettar before making allegations against CM Siddaramaiah should cross check their facts. The affidavit which was submitted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during 2008 election is perfect according to law,” said congress leader M Lakshmana who is also the media advisor to Mysuru District City Congress Committee.
Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Friday he said, “I am speaking here as general public not as a congress leader. It is not fare on part of former chief ministers to come out with irrelevant allegation against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and their allegations are baseless.”
“Siddaramaiah being an advocate will be be careful while submitting his affidavit. Being an advocate himself, filed his affidavit abiding all norms of election commission. Since there was no charge sheet filed against Siddaramaiah in all eleven cases that come under various sections of IPC 143, 147, 148, 341, 353, 332, 436, 141, 114, 427, 506, 435 and 109 there is no need of mentioning those cases in affidavit. In order to get political mileage, H D Kumaraswamy and Jagadish Shetter are misleading the people with the false allegations against the CM. If at all these leaders wanted to take action against CM they should have filed their appeal well before in court and not in the Election Commission, within the time limits of candidature tenure that is 2008-2013. Election Commission has no jurisdiction to take action on these allegations” added Lakshmana.
Alleged suicides from officials have become weapon to blackmail: “The recent alleged suicides from government officers including the recent incident in Hassan are not good to society. The opposition leaders should not politicize these issues as it may have adverse effect on government functioning. These alleged suicides have become like blackmail tactics. According to Supreme Court ruling, if any government officials threaten to commit suicide, he or she can be removed from service” pointed Lakshmana.
