Mysuru: The All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has taken objection to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy’s assertion that it had partnered with the BJP to defeat Congress in the state. AIMIM, for the first time in Karnataka, will be contesting the assembly election in the 60 assembly constituencies including one in Mysuru at N R constituency.
Addressing media persons at Press Club here on February 1, Rafathulla Khan, Secretary of AIMIM, Mysuru chapter said,“Both Siddaramaiah and Ramalinga Reddy have accused AIMIM National President Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi of having made a secret pact with the BJP to field minority candidates in Muslim dominated areas and break into the community votes and help BJP in the coming 2018 assembly elections in Karnataka.
“We condemn it in strongest words that this is a false and baseless accusation against our party. Congress has lost in 24 states in India wherein AIMIM has never contested. In Bihar, we had contested for 6 seats only and in UP 33 seats out of 403. This had made no difference to Congress as its presence was never there. The failure of Congress is due to its involvement in various scams and powerful Hindutva propaganda by BJP”, said Rafathulla.
“Congress government had stopped Member of Parliament Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi who had earned Sansad Ratna, that is best parliamentarian, from entering Karnataka from the past three years. However, they are allowing people like Mohan Bhagawat, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, Raja Singh, Ananth Kumar Hegde, Pramod Muthalik who always spew venom against minority communities and create communal tensions in the state. Congress leader Digvijay Singh and Ghulam Nabi Azad have been issued injunction orders and criminal defamation case which is going on in the 8th Junior Civil Court in Hyderabad for making false accusations against our leader Barrister Asaduddin”, added Rafathulla. Nisar Mohammed, Joint Secretary of AIMIM, also challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to give permission to Owaisi to come to Karnataka.
