Mysuru: The SSLC exams have begun across the state from Wednesday, March 30. Here in Mysuru, a mother-daughter duo and a 53-year-old man appeared for the examination leaving eyebrows raised.
Bhagya Kumari (36) from Kallegoudanahalli village in H D Kote taluk and her daughter Soumayashree appeared for the exam on the same day.
Bhagya Kumari is an Anganwadi worker and had discontinued her studies when she was in 9th standard. Now with the support of family members and Anganwadi senior officials she wrote exam in Kannada.
Bhagya Kumari speaking to Newskarnataka said, “my daughter gave all necessary tips for the exam. We studied together and prepared for the exam.”
They say there is no age bar to clear any exam. A 53-year-old Shahtaj Khan who is a kerosene vendor in Mandi Mohalla also became an inspiration for many by appearing for the examination.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, he said, “There is a rule that the vendor should pass SSLC exam for the renewal of business license. Hence I have attended the exam. Even though I was busy with work, I made it a point to study for the exam and I am confidant that I will pass this exam”, he said.
