Mysuru: The new born baby girl who was abandoned in a garbage truck and later rescued by pourakarmikas Nagaraj and Sarvana and admitted to Cheluvamba hospital last month has recovered. The baby will be discharged on Saturday, August 6.
When the baby was brought to hospital on July 11, its condition was very worse. Speaking to NewsKarnataka, Dr Sudha Rudrappa who is treating the baby since it got admitted to the hospital said, “When the baby got admitted, it was in an unhealthy condition as it was exposed to cold weather after being abandoned. The baby was suffering from respiratory complications and was put on oxygen and given antibiotics. Later after diagnosing it also came to light that the baby was suffering from septicemia, infection of blood. Now, the baby is almost recovered and in a healthy condition. Today, it is expected to be discharged. It will be handed over to the police who in turn along with Women and Child Welfare department officials will hand it over to Bapuji children’s home”.
It can be brought to light that on July 11, pourakarmikas Sarvana and Nagaraju rescued the baby that was found inside a bag, abandoned in parked garbage collection vehicle near Agrahara circle. The workers would have had dumped the bag with the child into the garbage van if the child had not started crying.
The shocked duo immediately called the health inspector and later went to KR Police Station. Soon the police personnel arranged a Garuda Vehicle and shifted the baby to Cheluvamba hospital where she is undergoing treatment now. Mayor Bhyrappa later honored Nagaraj and Sarvana for their good deed.
