Mysuru: Mayor BL Bhyrappa felicitated pourakarmikas Sarvana and Nagaraju who rescued the abandoned just born baby girl which was thrown into their garbage collection vehicle on Monday.

As a token of appreciation, on Wednesday Bhyrappa called the duo to his chamber and felicitated them with shawl and fruit basket. Speaking after the felicitation Bhyrappa said, “The duo did a commendable job by rescuing the new born baby. They not only rescued the baby, but they were also concerned about the baby’s health which they proved by coming to hospital on Tuesday. It was also surprising that one of them even came forward to adopt the baby”.
Sarvana and Nagaraju were delighted with the felicitation. “We didn’t do anything. We just shifted the baby found in our trash cart. I want to thank Mayor Bhyrappa sir for this felicitation. This felicitation has really motivated us to do more good work,” they said.
It can be brought to light that on Monday, pourakarmikas Sarvana and Nagaraju after registering their morning attendance and parking their garbage collection vehicle went to have tea near Hotel Nalpak in Agrahara. After having tea they started their regular door to door garbage collection. Nagaraju who was segregating the waste noticed a plastic bag. When he opened the bag, he was shocked to see a new born baby girl crying. Soon after, the police personnel arranged Garuda vehicle and shifted the baby to Cheluvamba hospital where she is now undergoing treatment.
