9th graduation day of JSS college in Mysuru

Speaking during the ninth graduation day of JSS Law College at its premise here on Saturday, he said, “General impression was that, law is confined only to law but that’s not the case today. Now you have so many branches and opportunities, including new business administrative laws. There is global attention on youngsters. Earlier, we used to say that youngsters are the assetd of the nation, but now they have become the assets of the world. You are the soldiers and have a great role to play. Before graduating, you were taking care about yourself, but now once you go out from this college, you need to take care of others. Life is not a struggle as always said, but life is a commitment for a cause. If we consider the matrix of the society, we have different textures of people surrounding us. They may be a successful entrepreneur, a highly qualified or a person with unparalleled achievements, but these should not lead to an imbalanced society. The world is moving in a disastrous way and it’s in the hands of youngsters and students to bring a transformation in the society and make the society a better place to live”.

Note and report

In Gujarat, due to lack of segregation, liquid and solid waste was mixed with industrial waste which in turn poisoned the local residents resulting in 27 deaths. Hence, it is the responsibility of law graduates to keep an eye on the society and note and report the things which are posing threat to people.

Law graduates should be part of legal service authority

The young law graduates services are most valuable and invited. To start with, to gain some experience towards legal profession you have a lot of options like getting into legal service authority and also can get involved at mediation centres which are set up at all the high courts.

Law is important from birth to death

AR Patil, Advocate and Chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council who also spoke on the occasion said, “This is a profession which is very important for every citizen of the country. From the day of birth till death, every step we go is according to law. For effective administration, we have also come out with resolutions that IAS and IPS officers should be law graduates so that they can serve better”.

Public and Judiciary feeling legal profession is coming down

“Public and judiciary are feeling that the profession is coming down, because advocates are not sincere and serious and also not putting up the cases properly before the court. Hence, keeping this in mind, Karnataka Bar Council has already taken decision to provide ten candidates training at the time of enrolment itself. If one wants to take up legal practice, what they have studied is just preliminary, they have studied certain laws in syllabus; the process of learning will be more because there are more number of laws which they might have not studied during academics. Therefore, learning process starts from the date of joining practice and it will be a continuous practice. If there are good lawyers there will be good judgment. Money and muscle power is playing a very important role in the political scenario and they are not interested to work, hence the role of youngsters is very important for the development of the society,” added Patil.

103 students of BA LLB, BBA LLB and LLM were conferred with degrees on the occasion. Mathew Sebastin, Pradeep P, Deche M Mercy and Chirasmitha B H bagged first ranks in LLM, LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB respectively.
