Mysore: In order to restore the beauty of Heritage City, officials from Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) launched a drive to remove all illegal hoardings erected across the city

The officials said that around 90 percent of hoardings erected in city are illegal as they had not sought permission from MCC.
Supreme Court has ordered to remove the hoardings erected in front of heritage structures, monuments, roads and footpaths before Apr. 17, 2015. Fallowing the order of the Court, MCC Zone 3 officials have removed almost 90 percent of the illegal hoardings. Zone-3 Assistant Commissioner Roopa, removed illegal hoardings near Government Press in Saraswathipuram and near Kukkarahalli Lake.
Jagadeesh, Deputy commissioner for Revenue of MCC said, “We are receiving around 50 lakh revenue from these hoardings, and many of the agencies are having illegal add hoardings in the city.”
“According to the agreement, the deadline was March 30, and MCC is planning to install its own hoardings in the city in order to gain more income. From the ad agencies MCC is receiving only 20 percent of money for the advertisement, if we do it by our self we can get more income and which also benefits the advertisers”, he added.
