Mysuru: As many as 284 prisoners across the state are being released on account of their good conduct during prison life by the state government. Accordingly, 52 prisoners including 17 women walked free from Mysuru prison on the Independence Day.
The district in charge minister HC Mahadevappa gave away certificates and wished all a good future during the release event. Reacting to reporters on exit, released prisoner 67-year-old Nanjegowda of T.Narsipur said, he would not wish prison life for worst of his enemies. It is only meant for thieves, idle people and not for someone like him. He felt, it is better to live a simple and fruitful life during one’s lifetime.
Prominent among the released include Anburaj,Thangaraj,Appuswamy and Siddan who helped deceased bandit Veerappan during his time.
Happiness was evident on the faces of released prisoners including 17 women on the occasion.
