Mysore: State Minister for Revenue V Srinivas Prasad has informed that  the  case of encroachment of government land to the extent of 12 lakh acres in Bangalore and various other parts of the state, will be investigated  by a retired Additional Secretary of the state government.

Speaking to reporters here, he said a decision to this effect was taken at the cabinet meet held under the leadership of the CM. The Minister said there has been encroachment of nearly 1 lakh acre land in Bangalore.  He said though the Balasubrahmaniam led Task Force was constituted to  find how the land be reacquired,  the Task Force no longer exists and committee led by the CM  was later formed to  decide on the issue. But SR Hiremutt had moved the High Court questioning this following which the Court directed the government against dissolving the Task Force. The fresh probe ordered will look into all these aspects, the Minister said.
