‘Nammura Tindi Mela’, three-day food festival in Mysuru from July 15 to 17

Mysuru: A three-day food festival, ‘Nammura Tindi Mela’ will be organised by Bhagyalakshmi Enterprise at Jayamma Govindhegowda Kalyana Mantap from July 15 to 17.

Vishnu Murthy, spokesperson of the enterprise said, “Traditional delicacies are fading away from our lives in the cacophony of the modern day fast-paced world. Our home made foods made with traditional knowledge are making way for pizzas and burgers. The three-day festival which will begin on July 15 will have more than 70 stalls displaying wide variety of native food which would tickle your taste buds. The festival gives an insight into the rich variety of traditional food. Various cultural events too have been organised as part of the event”.

He also mentioned that the delicacies are made with ingredients which meet the nutritional requirements of the body during various seasons. “This food festival will give a glimpse into the legacy of such food and thus help to lead a healthy life,” added Vishnu.

Janardhan, Director Rangayana and Prathap Simha, Member of Parliament, Mysuru will be the chief guests. The three-day festival will be inaugurated on Friday at 10.30am. The inaugural event will be followed by contests such as Cooking Queen, fashion show for mothers, fire-less cooking for children, music contest, inter-school dance competition and magic show. A healthy baby contest will be held on Saturday. Renowned actor/director SihiKahi Chandru will take part in the event on Sunday. The stalls will be opened for public from 10am to 9pm.
