Mangaluru: Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, veteran Congress leader Janardhan Poojary has sought resignation of the CM over DySP M K Ganapathi suicide issue.

Stating that the people of Karnataka are unhappy with his administration, Poojary in a press meet on Thursday, July 14 said that people of Karnataka are fed up of Siddaramaiah and the way he dealt with some of the shocking cases reported in the state.

Citing a survey conducted by television house, he said that 99 percent of the people have said that they were unhappy with the CM. “Going by this verdict, the CM must resign,” said Poojary, who was the only Congress leader to have spoken in favour of Ganapathi and his family.

“When three names are clearly spelled out in the dying declaration, why are you not filing FIRs against them? Is one person important to you than the party,” he questioned and added that the CM has even gone to the extent of using the media to tarnish the image of Ganapathi’s wife Pavana.

He further questioned as to why the inquest report had account of Ganapathi’s brother and father when his wife was alive.

Naming SM Krishna, DK Shivakumar, Dr Parameshwar, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Ugrappa, SR Patil to H K Patil, Poojary said that any of these leaders can become CM.

“You have been the CM for three years. It’s time to step down now,” he said adding that the MLAs must be asked to cast their vote to elect the CM and also urging the high command to step in to sort out the issue.

Attacking the appointment of retired judge for judicial probe into Ganapathi case, Poojary said that if the CM had guts he should have handed over probe to sitting judge of the High Court or the Supreme Court.
