Shivamogga: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Backward Classes State President S. Madhu Bangarappa on Monday March 13 went door-to-door in his hometown Kubatur and launched the Congress Party’s Guarantee Card distribution programme.
“The tax burden of the BJP Government has become too heavy for the common man to bear. The price of a cooking cylinder has now gone up to Rs. 1,200 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave cylinder gas free to labourers only for a month and then made them pay the full bill. It is difficult for the common man to survive as the prices of essential commodities, including electricity, are rising on a daily basis. According to Modi, Achhe Din should be when a woman sheds tears every day,” he said.
“When Bangarappa was Chief Minister, he realised the plight of the common man and farmers and gave free electricity to pumpsets even before people could ask for it. He further said that the voters have placed 100 per cent confidence in the Congress as they are distributing door-to-door guarantee cards with the promise of making the announcements made in its manifesto by the Congress Party with the signatures of Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar from the day the party came to power,” he noted.
