Shivamogga: Former minister K S Eshwarappa has hinted at the possibility of reviving and strengthening Rayanna Brigade which he had started to advocate justice for the OBC Community which he halted following request from former chief minister BS Yediyurappa and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, Eshwarappa hinted at the possibility of making this organization active once again. Eshwarappa, a former BJP minister contesting as an independent candidate from Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency, following his son KE Kantesh did not get BJP ticket to contest election from Haveri-Lok Sabha seat.
Eshwarappa reiterated the core principles of the Rayanna Brigade, stated its mission to secure justice for the marginalized and disadvantaged sections of society. “I founded the Rayanna Brigade with the noble objective of ensuring justice for the underprivileged and oppressed,” he stated, reflecting on the organization’s goals.
Acknowledging the obstacles faced by the Rayanna Brigade in the past, particularly opposition from certain factions within the political establishment, Eshwarappa expressed his determination to revive its legacy and address the urgent issues confronting the backward and Dalit communities in Karnataka.
Highlighting persistent land disputes, particularly the Bagar Hukam land issue affecting thousands of victims, Eshwarappa pledged his support to the Malenadu Farmer Agitation Committee and vowed to continue his advocacy even beyond the elections.
