Youth assaulted for opposing sand transportation through pvt land

Hunasur : An incident wherein a youth was attacked with a machete by some assailants solely for objecting movement of sand lorries on the land owned by him, has been reported from Sindenalli in the taluk.

The victim is Krishne Gowda (33), son of Ninge Gowda. He worked as a driver for KSRTC in its Hunasur depot and is presently admitted to Hunasur Government Hospital.

Krishne Gowda’s father owned two acre land on the  banks of Lakshmana Theertha River. But when Gowda noticed transportation of sand in lorries by Swami Gowda and Ninge Gowda  through their private land, he objected to the same. Infuriated by this,  the duo along with a few others assaulted Krishne Gowda when he was  at home after his duty hours.

Gowda who has sustained injuries on his head and hand is undergoing treatment. A complaint  has been lodged against Ninge Gowda,  his sons Nagesh and Chethan, and his nephew Sanju. The accused are said to be absconding.
