Hassan : A young woman who had arrived to appear for her exams at the BEG College near the Axis Bank on the BM Road in the town, was kidnapped in a cinematic style by a group of three men who arrived by a Maruti van on November 18, Monday morning.
Sources said the girl MC Sowmya, a resident of Gandasi was reading on the steps of the BEG College which is an examination centre of the Karnataka State Open University, when the incident took place. The girl was supposed to write the supplementary exams in Economics of final BA. At around 8.55 am the three men who arrived by a Maruti van forcibly took her away.
The happenings have been captured in the CC Camera located in front of the Axis Bank branch close by the college. The police have been able to note down the vehicle’s registration number. Even the faces of the accused were visible in the footages.
Police who are investigating the case have found that the vehicle was owned by HK Chethan Kumar of Sri Krishna Nagara near Koppala of Bagedara. Senior police officials who have taken up investigations into the case have exuded confidence that the kidnappers will soon be caught.
