Hassan: In a big embarrassment to the ruling JDS party, Hassan Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis has suspended three polling officers and directed a case against seven persons in connection with fake polling at the Paduvalahippe polling booth in the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. This polling booth is located in the Holenarasipur taluk, which is the home turf of PWD minister H D Revanna.

According to sources, the DC issued this order after verifying the CCTV footage, where it was confirmed that these officers allowed malpractice. The BJP delegation had submitted a complaint to the DC in this regard.

Sources also said that the BJP submitted another complaint to the DC informing that fake polling had been carried out at another 18 booths in the constituency. The DC is likely to take up the matter today.

Based on the directions of the DC, a case has been registered against seven persons at the Holenarasipur police station.
