Bengaluru: JDS has decided to suspend Prajwal Revanna, the Hassan MP. His suspension will be officially announced at the party’s core committee meeting scheduled in Hubballi on Tuesday.
Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna is facing allegations of involvement in a sex scandal and abuse of women, for which a complaint has been filed against him at the Hole Narasipur Town police station. He is accused number 2 in this case, with his father HD Revanna listed as accused number 1.
The party’s decision follows demands from JDS legislators Samaruddhi Manjunath, MLA from Mulbagilu, and Sharangouda Kandakur, Gurmitkal MLA, who have called for his suspension due to the embarrassment caused to party leaders by this incident. MLA Kandakur stated, “Let the SIT investigating the case uncover the truth.”
Meanwhile, HD Kumaraswamy has stated the media that his explusion from the party will be taken at a core-committee meeting of the party in Hubballi, scheduled to be held today.
He also distanced from Revanna’s family, asking media persons not to drag his or his father HD Deve Gowda’s name in this, he said they both leave under separate roofs.
