Bhagalpur: Tragedy struck in Bihar’s Bhagalpur late on Monday night as a truck carrying goods lost control and crashed onto an SUV, claiming the lives of six individuals, including a child.
The incident occurred on National Highway 80, near Aamapur village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Ghogha police station. Sources revealed that the occupants of the SUV were part of a wedding convoy traveling from Dhapari in Munger to Shrimatpur in Kahalgaon.
Eyewitnesses reported that a speeding truck, loaded with rods, overturned and collided with the SUV following a tire blowout.
Local authorities, along with residents, promptly initiated rescue efforts, utilizing an earthmover to extract the victims’ remains from the wreckage. The rescue mission persisted well into the night.
Subsequently, the bodies were recovered from the site and transferred to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination, as confirmed by officials.
