Somwarapete :A team of Agriculture Department officials as well as Task Force Committee Members visited the areas on the foothills of Pushpagiri in Somwarapete taluk on Sunday August 10 to inspect the conditions prevailing there in the wake of the area witnessing heavy rain fall. The official team led by Taluk Assistant Agricultural Director Dr Rajashekhar inspected the nearly 25 acre of farm land which is surrounded by water in Kotnalli and Kudigana villages.



The farmers are facing fears of loss of paddy crops as the fields have become entirely slushy.
Dr Rajashekhar said he would draw the attention of the government towards the problems of the farmers and help in securing compensation to them.
Already, five farmers of the area have applied for compensation and others who are affected can contact the Shanthalli Farmers Contact Centre, he said.
The visiting team included Krishnayya of Task Force Committee, Pallavi, officer of the Shanthalli Farmers Contact Centre, Chunchayya, in-charge Deputy Tahsildar and Naseema, Village Accountant.
